This past weekend, Florida Gators legend and NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith got himself in some hot water. Smith was in Athens Saturday for the Georgia Bulldogs spring game to support his son EJ. But the photo below is what Gator fans never thought they would ever see. Here you have Smith, his wife and Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart all decked out in red and black.

Once that photo got around social media, Gator fan made it known to Smith that they were not happy.

I understand the kids wearing the schools gear but a UF legend doing it? Puzzling for sure

I understand how the fans feel but I have to side with Smith on this one. At the end of the day, he is supporting his son, who is being recruited by Georgia. It will be interesting to see how the younger Smith recruitment goes and whether or not he winds up in Gainesville following his dad’s footsteps.
