Anytime a new head coach takes over a program, you can expect attrition throughout the offseason. Now that spring ball is over for the Florida Gators, you are going to see some players decided to move on from the program. One player made this decision a few days ago, which I knew was coming. Quarterback Jake Allen announced on his Twitter account that he is no longer apart of the Gators football team and intends to transfer.

From the moment Mullen took the job in Gainesville, many believe it was only a matter of time before Allen would decide to leave the program. I’m not saying Allen doesn’t have any talent because he clearly does. But the spread scheme that Mullen will be running on offense doesn’t fit the skill set that Allen has. Hopefully Allen will find a landing spot that will give him the best chance to be a starter in the next few years.
