On Saturday, the Florida Gators will face-off against the South Carolina Gamecocks with second place in the SEC East on the line. If you missed it, here is the preview for this game.
What the Gators need to do on offense: In order to make the game easier for quarterback Malik Zaire, running him often is the best way to go. The Gamecocks defense is very aggressive, so this will slow them down a little as they will have to account for him. It can also allow the offensive line to create holes for running back Lamical Perine. It will also open up one on one opportunities for their wide receivers, most notably Tyrie Cleveland and Dre Massey.
What the Gators need to do on defense: Stopping the run this season has been tough for this defense but they can’t allow big chunk plays. Quarterback Jake Bentley is a pretty good, so getting him in 3rd and long should be the goal in this game. We should see plenty of blitzes from this defense in order to get the ball out of Bentley’s hand faster. I think Marco Wilson and CJ Henderson will bounce back from last week’s game and play good.
Prediction: I expect this to be a close well fought game but I have to go with the home team in this one.
